Known as "the worlds luckiest fishing village," Destin is the principal city along Florida's breathtaking Emerald Coast in Okaloosa County, which is known for the stunning contrast of its ivory beaches against brilliant blue-green waters. Originally Destin was founded as a small fishing village, but it has since grown into a tourist destination and home owners paradise.

The entire month of October is also prime time for the annual Destin Fishing Rodeo, a tournament for saltwater anglers young and old that awards more than $100,000 in cash and prizes.
